The Commission Process
The commission process can seem daunting to some, but there's nothing to worry about and it's very easy and straightforward to commission me! This guide will help you to understand my process and how I work, and that will hopefully provide you some transparency into what happens when you commission me.

Step 1:
Choose what type of commission you would like. There's information next to each type as well as prices to help you decide which commission best suits your needs

Step 2:
Fill in the commission form for the commission type that you have chosen. Please fill this in carefully as I use this information for both my records and for your commission. Put links to your references where they are requested. You will receive a receipt to the email address you provided when you submit your form.

Step 3:
I will read through your form and then send an invoice to the email address you provided. Sometimes I may contact you before I send this invoice, to clarify a detail or to provide you with a quote if the amount is large.

Step 4:
You pay your invoice within 24 hours of receiving it and then you will be added to my public Trello queue, which you can view at your leisure and will show your position in the commission queue.

Step 5:
I start your commission. I will roughly sketch your commission and will send you an initial sketch. This sketch will be very rough, anatomy may not be 100% correct, but it serves to demonstrate an overall idea and does not represent the quality of the final product. This is when changes can be asked for such as posing or the size/shape of the character/objects.

Step 6:
Using your feedback from Step 5, I will re-sketch your commission with the changes and I will add detail and correct any anatomical and character errors. I will send you this sketch and you may make minor changes at this stage, such as the expression.

Step 7:
Typically from this point on, you do not see any more previews unless I need to clarify colours or specific details. I will ink and flat colour the sketch and then add shading if that has been paid for. I usually complete the commission within a few days of the last sketch being approved, and any changes to the timeline such as delays will be communicated to you. You can contact me at any time for more updates if you wish, and I'm more than happy to send more previews. However, changes cannot be made at this stage unless it is minor and this is taken case-by-case.

Step 8:
I will send you the finished product! If I have made an error and got a feature wrong with your character, I will correct it free of charge. Sometimes mistakes happen! I will ask if everything is okay and you have permission to post, share and print your piece of art. If I remember, I will ask you to fill in a feedback form so that I can continue to grow my business effectively!
